1-day Mount Bisoke hike
A full-day volcano hike to a crater lake at about 3,700 metres, through bamboo and giant lobelia.
Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1
Your guide collects you in Kigali or Musanze at 7:00 am and drives to the Kinigi park headquarters for registration and the briefing. The climb to the crater takes about six hours up and two hours down, depending on fitness. The path passes bamboo, hypericum and lobelia, with wide views of Rwanda's hills, and you may see golden monkeys or buffaloes. After the hike, you eat a hot meal and return to Kigali.
