3-day Kibale chimpanzee trekking safari
The most convenient way to meet wild chimpanzees. You drive west from Entebbe, trek chimpanzees in Kibale and walk the Bigodi wetland.
Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1
Our guide meets you at Entebbe airport and drives you west through Mubende to Fort Portal, about five to six hours with a lunch stop. The road passes tea estates, terraced farms and crater lakes, with the Rwenzori mountains in view on clear days. Check in at your lodge near the forest.
Day 2
After breakfast, go to the park headquarters for the ranger briefing and trek to a chimpanzee community, spending one hour with the animals. In the afternoon, walk the raised boardwalk of the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for monkeys and birds.
Day 3
Drive back to Entebbe after breakfast, with a lunch stop on the way.
